    Furnace won't light
The heater kicks on, then the heating element glows orange, then as the heating element starts to shut down, the gas fires. Every now and then they time correctly and light, maybe 1 in 5 to 10 times. What is causing the timing issue?

Have you cleaned the igniter sensor? It is on the opposite side of the burners from the flat surface igniter. Remove it and use light sandpaper.
