Black dirt coming from my laminate floors
What is this black dirt that is coming from my laminate floors in my foya and kitchen? Is it harmful to human health? I can't seem to keep them clean. It is dirting my tan carpet. I did not purchase this flooring, it came in a new apartment that I moved into. Any help will be appreciated.

If you Google" black dust from Laminate floors" you will see that this was discussed on this forum and many others. Appears to be the Oxide coating used for scratch resistance. More noticeable on new installs.

The thing to do is contact your landlord and make this condition known so the installer can make the necessary repairs. Probably just a maintenance resealant.
