Pregnant and scared
I am 21 years old and a paramedic student. I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm freaking out. I'm not married but the baby's father and I have been together for almost 4 years. I live with my parents because I'm studying and I'm in my 3rd year and only have 1 more year to study, but I will not be able to continue studying if I decide not to terminate the pregnancy because in the paramedic course we do a lot of practicle work; working on the road and in hospitals and doing rescue.
My parents are extremely strict and we are Christians and I don't know how to tell them and I'm scared my dad will have a heart attack or something because I'm the youngest of four daughters.
I just need help and advice because I don't know where to go from here, what to do or who to turn to.

I do not mean to be rude, but you knew the risks of pregnancy when you decided to have sex. These were options you and your boyfriend should have prepared for.
1. have you talked to the school about what options are available.
2. what does your boyfriend have to say, what is his opinion.
3. what do you want to do?
And while they may be upset, I really do not know of anyone having a heart attack, they may be angry, they may be disappointed.
You need to figure out what your plan is, and if they need to be told, then you and boyfriend should tell them together.

Some boyfriend!
OPTIONS
Don't tell your parents and have an abortion.
Tell your parents and answer back what they say. Anything from Leave This House Today to We Will Take Care of the Baby.
Don't tell your parents and move out and live with your boyfriend, with a baby or without. What's his situation?
NO ONE is going to tell you what to do, not even Planned Parenthood. Find the nearest one if you want for counseling about the nuts and bolts of options.
You must work on this every day, not in a panic, but every day. Make lists. Talk. Act.

When you lay out your considerations, consider short-term and long term about any option. What are your own views and beliefs? If you have strong religious beliefs, know that they often come to be tested through challenging situations. How supportive is your boyfriend of any decision you might make?

I don't think I've ever seen a news story of a parent having a heart attack upon learning about a pregnant child. They may be disappointed, but they will survive. If you are considering an abortion just because of school, speak to someone in the program, preferably a counselor or administrator. I'm positive a pregnant woman has been through the program. Look at all your options before you make a decision you may regret. Good luck and hopefully you find all of the answers you need.
