How old are you and how long has this been going on? Also what's going on in your life, that is perhaps different or stressful maybe? Any school, or work related problems?

Im 14 I've been having trouble sleeping for a while now not exactly sure how long maybe a couple months. Nothing really stressful going on except that I'm falling behind in my school work its hard to concentrate. If something different or stressful was happerning would that affect my sleep and if it did how could I stop it from doing that.

A lot of people get a kind of "jet lag" every now and then, especially during changes in the seasons (We go from standard to daylight savings time) and that takes adjustment as well as not enough sun, or exercise, or too much rain, or changes in daily activities, or routines. Even parents changing work routines, can throw us off for a while and it takes time to get back in the groove.

Probably those nightmares have you a bit out of sorts, and sleepless too, as you have said, and no telling why that is. Maybe something sad, scary, or shocking happened a while back? A fight, or argument, or an innocent lie, or secret?

Sometimes we are nervous from looking forward to something too, like a vacation, reunion, soccer season, or something, and we are unable to focus or sleep much. So it doesn't always have to be a bad thing, it could be ANYTHING.

Hard to say, but I hope you can figure it out, and relax some, to correct it. Warm milk after a hot bath does it for me.

If I was having a dream about something sad, scary or shocking that happened and that's what woke me up, is there anyway to make myself stop having those dreams.

I've looked up a few ways to help me go to sleep at night but not sure if I wake up if they will help me go back to sleep. Might get in trouble if I'm in the kitchen early in the morning.
