Possible Miscarriage?
Im suppose to be 9 weeks or so pregnant with my 2nd baby, 4 days ago I had an ultrasound that showed a 6 and a half to 7 week fetus but no heartbeat, yesterday I started bleeding light no cramping, the on call doctor said not to come in unless severe bleeding and/or intolerable cramping and will do ultrasound Thursday.. Is it possible if I did lose this baby that if I continue to have unprotected sex that I could get pregnant again?

First off, in the first little bit there are growth spurts. It could be that you're just measuring a little early. Your doctor is right, unless you start bleeding heavily, then everything should be fine. Wait for your ultrasound to know for sure. If you do miscarry then you'll have the same chances to get pregnant as you did before you conceived. Precious little will have changed.

Was this your first ultrasound? Are you dating your pregnancy from your last period being about 9 weeks ago? If so, keep in mind that often you would not actually be pregnant in the first week or two and an early ultrasound will date the pregnancy from what can be seen and measured. So it may be that you are indeed closer to about 6.5 or 7 weeks.
What sort of ultrasound did you have... abdominal or transvaginal? This too can make a difference in what is seen in the early weeks. If you are about 6.5-7 weeks, you are right in a time when sometimes the heartbeat can be seen, and sometimes not quite yet. Early on, a couple of days can make all the difference.
Some light bleeding may be normal in early pregnancy, although it is natural to be concerned, and it should always be mentioned to your doctor or midwife. Hopefully all will be well when you return next Thursday for another ultrasound.

I've been there done that, but at 9 weeks I didn't even know they could detect a heartbeat, even with ultrasound. I started bleeding at 11 weeks, at first it was just a few drops whenever I wiped, and it was my third pregnancy, never had this happen with the first two so of course I panicked.
I went in to the doctors and he listened for a heartbeat. He found none, but told me that it was still early at 11 weeks. He scheduled an ultrasound a week later.
Sadly I started bleeding heavily and cramping on the day of my ultrasound. At that point I knew that I had miscarried but I went to the ultrasound anyway hoping I was wrong. I wasn't.
Some women bleed during pregnancy and it's perfectly fine. Now it's been 9 years since my miscarriage, and I'm sure technology has advanced since then, but I don't think that not finding a heartbeat at 9 weeks (more like 7 weeks if you're dating based on your last period) is that unusual.
I'd say go with your gut. If you're bleeding a lot I'd get to the hospital. But if it's just spotting, or bleeding with no cramps, I wouldn't worry until you're told there's no hope. Until then there's always hope that all is well.
Just to put a positive spin to my sad story, I had a friend that bled heavily throughout her entire pregnancy. Turns out she had placenta privia, was put on bed rest for the last three months of her pregnancy, but the first 6 she bled heavily. Her son is now 16 years old and very healthy.
I wish you the best. Please tell your doctor everything that's going on, don't leave it to him, be proactive, fight to get answers. I hope it all works out.
