    I need to know custody laws.
    I'm pregnant and the father of the child left me and I need to know what the laws there are on custody and child support. Any help would be fantastic. I really need to get educated on this, because I'm afraid he will try to take my baby away from me.

    Hello ham:

    He can't take your baby away, and you're entitled to child support. It won't happen automatically just because you're entitled to it. You'll probably need to sue him to get it. That's fine. You'll need to get a legal custody order at the same time. Yes, you're going to need a lawyer.
