200 amp main panel feeding 200 amp subpanel
I want to run the line power from the utility pole through an underground service to a main panel on my shop, then to a 125 amp subpanel in the shop and through 70 ft of buried 2.5 in pvc conduit to a 200 amp subpanel in my house. (the shop is bettween the utility pole and house) I have a siemens MC0816B1200SCTM 250 AMP MAIN PANEL. It has a 200 amp main breaker , it has 8 stabs, the largest breaker it can take is 135 amps, which is fine for the shop, but I still need 200 for the house. The buss bars have what look like large feed through lugs at the bottom that I could use for my 200 amp subpanel in the house. The label in the panel says those lugs take from #4 through 250 kcml wire, which would work for a 200 amp subpanel, but there is nothing on the panel saying it's rated for a 200 amp feed through. Is that something I can do with this panel ? If so, at what depth would the conduit going to the need to be at ?
    Thanks, mike

That is a 200A feed-through meter/main. The lugs out the bottom on this particular panel are the feed-through lugs right off the load side of the meter. Remember, this will make the panel in the house a main panel, not a sub-panel.

The conduit, assuming PVC, should be at least 18" to the top.
