I am interested in buying a piece of land from a family friend. I have used it for many years and just want to transfer it into my name. The acreage has been paid in full for many years.

Thanks so much excon. Does it matter what county in Pa the title company is located or would it be better to use one in Huntingdon County ?

Since the title company will be doing a title search ( physcially in the court house) the local one will most liekly be able to do it for a better price) But it should not matter if you have someone who have always used, they will merely hire a title search to be done by local companies that do title searches for companies.
