    Trying to conceive
I was on the depo shot for nearly two years, and have been of it for nine months. How long does this take to get out of your system before you are able to conceive?

It can take as long as 2 years for it to completely exit your system, but it is different for each person. I have always heard that conceiving after depo is one heck of a ride. Good luck.

I can tell you my personal experience. It took hubby and I 18 months after stopping the depo shot to conceive. (the first 6 of those were not actively trying however) I was only on it for 2 shots also. Some women have no adverse effects from the shot and can conceive immeditaley. Some, it takes them several years. It just depends on how your body/hormones reacted to the shot, and how long it takes to get out of your system/and your body to return to normal. The shot puts your body in a post menopausal state, SO it may take a while for your body to get back into the knack of things. Good luck to you.
