Basement roughin
I finished putting in a basement roughin for a bathroom (drains and toilet )now it is time to cover the pipes I laid with cement. How do I do this. Do I cover the pipe with
(sand or gravel ) then poor cement or will this create a sag where ever I poor the cement , or do I just poor cement in the cavity level with the rest of the floor...
Any Help appreciated

As a rule on a small "slit trench" we fill the area around and over the pipe with dirt to the bottoim of the pour and a little over. We tamp and compact the dirt and make oiur patch over that. On a larger area we do the fill and compact thing and lay plastic and wire mesh down before we pour a patch. Good luck, Tom

Typically, the concrete is 3 1/2" thick.

And sometimes it can actually cost more but some people also just want to learn and what better way to learn is there by making an improvement in your home and life...
