    Emergency Contraceptive
    Hi!
I had sex on day 3 of my period (I have a 21 day cycle) without contraceptive although we used the pull-out method. I'm worried that I could ovulate soon and decided to use a "morning after pill". I have birth control on hand (recently became sexually active so I'm not currently on the pill). I decided to use my birth control pack as the "morning after pill" taking 1000mg of loestrin (Watson) in one full-swoop based on dosage amounts listed on Princenton.edu's site. I felt nauseous and ill the next day and the site is recommending another 1000mg dose 12 hours later.
My question is is the 1000mg does necessary 12 hours later?
My next question is if I want to start birth control regulary, when should I start since my period started last Thursday and is over now. Do I wait until I have another period, or start this Sunday or after my emergency contraceptive is done (tomorrow)?

Pullout method IS having unprotected sex in every sense of the word. He could knock you up from the beingiing... he doesn't need to finish to do the deed. Painting the walls only increases the odds.

As far as birth control... condoms you can use anything... and should. for other forms of birth control to make sure the odds are low you don't get an 8 lb surpise down the road, you need to follow the doctors directions as most of them require a doctors prescription.

You've basically screwed up that pack... you typically start taking it on the Sunday after your period... if you was concerned about a pregnancy.. why didn't you insist he use a condom?

THere is still the possibility you could have become pregnant from that event... no form of birth control is 100% effective... not using any at all, well.. Any of the morning after measures are not guaranteed to work either.
