    How many volts should comes from the regulator on a Briggs Vanguard OHV 16hp engine?
    I have a 16hp Vanguard that I can't get the electric clutch to power up. Just wondering how many volts should come from the regulator to power this?

    Hi,
    A good regulator will put out 15.5 V - 16.5 V. It is actually the current that engages the clutch through the electromagnetic field. Usually it is a broken wire (might be inside the insulation) or a bad ground.

I cut the lawn today(about 1 hour) and then did a complete oil and filter change after letting oil drain out for 30 minutes. Upon start up the engine has rattling noises in the OHV area. Shut off the motor and checked oil level, its Ok. Started engine and let run for 10 seconds still rattling....

There is an excess amount of oil being pushed out of the crankcase breather tube into the air filter housing. The compression is fine and there is no smoke out the exhaust. I am thinking a head gasket is the problem. Anyone have any experience with this problem?
