Hot water barely working in back to back showers
This morning I turned on the hot water in the shower. I heard a loud klunck and the hot water slowed way down. I tried turning it on and off a few times and it just got worse Now it trickles out. The other bathroom which is back to back is also doing the same thing. The pressure is slightly better though. What in the world could this be? I'm a single mom who doesn't have much money. Please help. Thank you plumbers.

How is the hot water pressure at all the other fixtures in the home? If your entire hot water system is affected, and by your "klunck" description, I am inclined to think that the water heater (if present) HEAT TRAP NIPPLE(S) has gone bad and will need to be removed and replaced. If only your showers are affected then I start to think that something has dislodged against a common hot water shutoff and is causing your issue. Let me know more here... Mark |

Mark thank you for taking the time to try and help me. I thought the other faucets were fine but last night I turned on the kitchen sink and the hot water there has low pressure as well. The two bathroom sinks seem to have good pressure and the water is still coming out hot.
The klunk sound I heard sounded like it was coming from the pipe right in The shower wall. My hot water heater is outside and it is about 10 years old. Thank you again for any advice you offer |

Yeah, a "clunk" in the shower wall shouldn't affect both showers unless it is a shut off valve in the wall that got blocked up, but that doesn't sound like the case at this point....at least not if the kitchen sink is also affected...;)
Look at the hot water pipe(s) coming out of the water heater...does it look like there are two branches feeding into the home, as Hkstroud asked? Let us know more, OK? Mark |

You guys are great thank you I took a picture but I can't see how to add it to this site. I really only see one line coming out of the water heater. I followed that along the house and it looks like one all the way from the hot water heater. Then I see two running side by side in the garage. Would that be the hot and cold. I appreciate your time. Really I do.
