    Emerson blower moter wiring question
I am replacing my furnace blower motor with an Emerson KA55HXFWR-3683 (which for some reason does not have a wiring diagram on the motor lable). Of course the wiring is different from the original (dead) motor. The original dead motor was a 5 speed with 5 colored wires, 2 brown wires for the capacitor, plus a "common" white wire (8 wires total, all the same guage). The new emerson is a 4 speed with a White and Brown wire for the capacitor (I think this because they are separate from the other 4 wires which are Black, Yellow, Blue, & Red which I assume are for high, medium, medium-low, & low speeds respectively), but no white wire for "common". How can the circuit be complete without a white "common"? Is the white from the capacitor also tied to the "common"?

Replacing Blower Moter [ 1 Answers ]

I have a Ducane furnace, model#CMPE075U3, for which I have to replace the blower motor only. I have taken off the 4 nuts which seem to hold it in place, but it won't pull out. Is there something in the back holding it on?
