    Pulse in back
    I have a recurring strong pulse in my lower left back, thst does not feel normal, and I wonder if it can be related to some kind of heart condition. I am 80.

    It would be odd to feel a pulse there I am sure, but there is also no major arteries or veins in that area to feel. If anything it is probably a muscle spasm but that is just a guess. It would probably be better for you to see a doctor about this.

    I agree with Craven, sounds more like a spasm than a pulse. There is no reason to have a pulse in your back.

    Sadly we can't diagnose, or even give an accurate guess. There are no doctors on this site.

    If this is a concern your best bet is to see your doctor.

    Yes, it very well could be cardiac related as you have some major arteries that run down both sides of your back. The inferior vena cava for one. This is the vein/artery that carries blood from the lower body to the heart. The atrium would be another cardiac guess as it is located on the lower right backside of the heart.

    It could also be renal related at your age. Kidneys. Or a variety of other issues.

    The best person to ask would be your doctor.
