    3 y/o JRT house soiling.
    Dog Info:
    Breed: Jack Russell/Chihuahua Mix
    Age: 3 years old.
    Potty Trained: We thought so!

Our dog has always done good with going outside, but lately has been peeing in the house. We don't yell at him we simply tell him NO! Then put him outside until he's peed - praise him - and back in the house he goes! He gets and will stop then it starts again. We use Natures Miracle Cleaner to clean up the smell of the pee. He does SOMETIMES poop in the house but that is mostly when we are out (Yes we are looking into crate training him for when we are gone and for over night!). We have tried putting his food and water dishes up for the night and leaving them up until he's done his first morning potty break outside, then he goes outside about every hour - but in between he pees in the house and isn't letting us know he needs to pee (he will either scratch at the door OR paw at us and then run to the back door and scratch!). We would NEVER get rid of him over an issue this small (I say small because there are far worse situations we could be dealing with! ) and we don't believe in giving up on him when it's something that can be fixed. We have heard that it could be his age and that neutering him will help because he is marking his territory... We are planning on getting him fixed in the new year. We hope we can get this figured out as we have a baby due very soon (but again we would not get rid of our beloved furry friend over this). We are hoping to get some tips that can help us and maybe something we haven't tried yet :)

A housebroken dog who reverts might be going through:
    - UTI. Follow him around with a small jar and collect pee (not easy) for the vet.
    - Change, such as the baby coming, or different hours you are gone.
    - Old age (not your case).

First get his urine checked for a UTI. Second, close as many doors as you can until this is resolved, and confine him to wherever you are. Do not deprive him of his water bowl, ever. That has nothing to do with this. Take him out on a schedule instead of waiting for him to ask to go out. Dogs like routine.

I have a JRT who is getting old, and as each year goes by she is more and more unwilling to go out in the winter. If you are in the north, then your dog might be similar about cold, and you just have to make him go out at regular intervals.
