    switched breaker box
I have switched from a 125 panel box to a 150 because of tripping breakers. The box is in and have power but I have appliances that will no longer work. I have plugged in a pair of clippers and they sound almost like a chainsaw. Any suggestions.

Ok, was the box you switched from a 125 Amp Main Service Panelboard? Did you do the work or a licensed electrician?

Do you have a volt meter? It sounds like (from the poor failure description) that you may have mis-wired the branch circuit and instead of 120 Vac, you have 240 Vac.

Get a meter and set it as high as you can for AC and test the circuit.

Also, take a picture of the new panelboard and attach it to this thread using the "Advanced" button below the box. Then look for the attachment button.

Thanks for replying but I had an electrician come over for me and he straightened out the issues. The first guy had "electrical experience" obviously just not enough.

WOW! So two people with no electrical experience replaced a panel? For a higher amperage one no less?? And now you're burning up appliances?

Please! Call a real electrician so you don't burn your house down.
