    Chasing copper piping
    Can I sink copper pipes into brick walls, do they need protection.

    You can, but make sure you wrap the pipe with either foam pipe insulation (if it's an exterior wall) or black PVC pipe wrap tape.

    The long and the short of it is you do not want the copper tube exposed to any part of the masonary (bricks or mortar).

    Great advice growler, However we do it differently here.
    Chapter 10, Section 1005.1 (Hangers & Supports) Titled "Piping in Concrete" of The Standard Plumbing Code states, " Piping in concrete or masonry walls of footings shall be placed or installed in chases or recesses which will permit access to the piping for repairs or replacement."
    In my area we chase our pipes through brick and concrete walls with PVC pipes installed before the walls are poured or built. Regards, Tom
