    Grandparents seeking Adoption
My Wife and I have Legal full Guardianship of our Granddaughter. My daughter was suppose to have supervised 2 hour visitation 2x's per month. (a drug situation)(her dad has been in prison for 3 years) She actually had 2 visit's and she was driven here by her aunt in Tulsa. I live in Arkansas, she lives in Tulsa, OK, about a 2.5 hour drive 1-way. After that she never showed. She was allowed 2 calls per week and every time she would make my grand daughter cry the whole time and cried herself to sleep for the next 4 days, then the calls stopped. Then at my youngest daughter's high school graduation, my daughter shows up & grabs my gran daughter's other arm and starts pulling on it trying to get her away from me. A really bad scene! It has been 3 years now with no contact since then & her dad is in prison.
Do I have grounds of Child Abandonment in Arkansas? Then could I Adopt her which take away her mom's and her dad's right. Oh, he has legally lost all of his rights.

I would strongly suggest you consult an local Family Law attorney. It does sound like you have reasons to apply for an adoption and for that adoption to be granted.

However it will be up to the local courts and a local attorney can best advise you as to the mood of the local courts.
