Does anyone know how long it takes for a nz cheque to clear in australia? The cheque is from westpac nz and I bank with commonwealth. Apso how much does the fee cost?

First off, there isn't a fee for depositing a check.

You should BE aware that there's a LOT of scams that people get caught up in. Although you haven't given us much information, this sounds suspiciously like a SCAM.

Lol. This isint a scam. I have lived in oz for a year now and when I did live there inland revenue (nz) had short paid me every week for my family tax credits eversince then. I called them up to see if they owed me any miney and it turned out they did so they sent the cheque to my Australian address. I asked if I could have it put into my mums nz account and they said no.

If you don't believe me Ring inland revenue if you like and ask if a cheque is made out to you can you put it in a account that doesn't have YOUR name on it. Frankly I don't care if you think this is a scam I was just asking a genuine qusestion.

I don't have a nz account. It is my money they can't put anyone else's name on the check not even if both of our names are on the cheque. And happen to be no help. I need someone to tell me something I don't know. Bye!

Second thing.. You DON'T need the company to WRITE the check to BOTH of you.. You already HAVE the check in your hand, don't you??? I said BOTH you and your mother ENDORSE the check on the BACK, and then she can DEPOSIT into her account... I don't think you understand what an ENDORSEMENT is... Well, I can't help that.
