Calling FR_Chuck... Need your input on sealed juvenile record?
I live in the midwest and when I was in high school I was arrested for petty theft and let go immediately. I was told that the incident would be off my record and sealed once I turned 17. Since then, I have completely forgotten about this. I now work for a company where I may be asked to assist on projects related to company taxes. In order to assist with this process, I will have to go through some sort of security check process with the IRS, which I know includes being audited and fingerprinted. I wanted to know if this would show up again because if so, I'm not sure how I would even handle it but I also want to be prepared if this will prevent me from being able to do my job and this will show up. If you could please advise me on what will happen, I'd appreciate it.

It never goes away completely... for certain types of background checks it WILL turn up... just not for every type.

Not sure if the type the IRS runs will turn it up or not (all depends on the type and level of a check they run).... It would if you was trying to get a high level security clearance.....but not if if you was applying to work at Walmart if you see the point.

    Hello life:

You were arrested and let go. There was NO conviction, so there's NO record.
