    Chandelier does not work
I installed a chandelier in my foyer above the staircase. The house has two switches for that fixture, one upstairs Edith a dimmer and one downstairs. I tested it with 3 light bulbs on and it worked, I then put on the other five light bulbs and it does not work anymore. This chandelier has one wire and a ground and 8 lights.

Can not work with one wire and a ground. There must be two wires. One wire must have been inside the chandelier and touching some metal part. The metal part would then have completed the circuit through the ground wire. Installing the additional bulbs must have broken the contact between that wire and the metal part.
Take chandelier down and find the second wire.

New chandelier is dimmed [ 7 Answers ]

Hi, I have been in my house just a few months. The previous owners had a very high tech track light over the kitchen island that had a slight buzzing sound and not very good light (plus, I just didn't really like it). Just today I just had a relative install a replacement chandelier. Guess...
