How to add air to a water-logged bladderless tank
I have a short cycle water bladderless pressure system and suspect that there is low volume of air in the tank. The water tank doesn’t have an air fill valve on top, can I increase the volume of air by shutting off the pump and drain part of the tank by opening a valve on the discharge side and let air in by loosen the pressure gauge?

If this is a galvanized pressure tank,(see image) . Then all you need to do to recharge the air is drain the tank and refill it. Nothing more. Good luck, Tom

Just to add a little to Tom's response, you must open a faucet to let air in so that the water will drain out the drain valve.
With the pump turned off course.

The tanks without bladders are generally part of a system which recharges the tank every time the pump cycles. If your tank is waterlogged, it might be that your system is not functioning properly.

If you have had this tank for a few years and the short cycling has just now started, then you likely have other problems.
