    Furnace will not start
I tried my furnace for the first time since winter and it would not ignite, the blower works but the element that use to glow to start the flames will not glow. It's a Goodman model number GMP075-3 REV A, serial number 9709824941. Which should I change out?

I would start with the ignitor. Test continuity with an ohmmeter, it should be 0 or close to it. If it reads infinity or very high resistance you should replace it. On most Goodman /Amana, it is a pretty easy job and the parts are less than $50.

Which blower are you talking about? Is it the small exhaust blower or the fan which circulates air around the house?

Blower that circulates the air around the house.I remember the igniter use to glow and then the flames would start. I had problems with the flame sensor last year but I pulled it out and sanded it lightly and then the flames would stay lite.

Before the ignitor glows, the exhaust blower should start. Use a voltmeter to make sure you are getting 120 volts to the venter motor. If you are & the motor does not start, shut off the power & use a small screwdriver to try to turn the motor. If it turns, turn it 2 or 3 revolutions then try the furnace again. Sometimes the motor gets stuck over the summer.

I put in new igniter and no luck. The error code light blinks quick 3X. The exhaust blower is working fine. HHMMMMM

I wouldn't mess around much more... can get costly replacing parts that don't need to be replaced... ;)

Contact Goodman furnaces directly and talk to the technical service department:

GoodmanŽ Manufacturing - Air Conditioning and Heating for Commercial and Residential Products

Have an electrical tester handy when you call!

Three blinks indicates a pressure switch failing to close. Check the vent pipe & chimney for any obstructions.

That is what it was , vent nipple on top of the fan was rusted shut so no air could go through. I pushed a piece of copper wire through and works now. I have to buy a new gasket now, the old one fell apart when I took the fan off. Thanks for all the help guys.
