Gas furnace blower motor won't start/slow to start

I have a airtemp probably 70's model we had to replace the blower motor about two years ago. Now when the fan is supposed to start it either won't start or is very slow to start. When this happens you can manually move the squirrel cage and it runs great through the complete cycle. We just replaced the fan limit switch still having the same problem. Could use some ideas,,
