    My AC repairman disconnected my capacitor and now says I need a new condenser
    AC repairman disconnected my capacitor and now says I need a new compressor. If the capacitor is not connected, how can the compressor work? The fan blows out cool air, not hot now. He says my unit should just be replaced due to cost of compressor.

    Why was the HVAC tech called?
    If the capacitor is not connected, how can the compressor work?
    It can't.
    The fan blows out cool air, not hot now
    Means you are only recirculating the cool air in the house
    He says my unit should just be replaced due to cost of compressor.
    Due to the labor involved in replacing a compressor, it is usually more cost effective to replace the entire unit.
