    Employee theft under $1500
I recently got arrested for theft of 783 dollars over time, spent the night in jail and got charged with a class a misdemeanor . If I hire a good attorney is there a chance I can get probation instead of jail time. My court date is in a couple of days I paid back my business the full amount plus more and wrote an apology letter. This is also my first offense at all and I'm 19

Its anyone's guess... the fact you made full restitution already will work in your favor.

Your location would help a little. Hopefully you learn from this experience.

No one can say for certain you won't get jail time, but this being a first offense helps a little. I would definitely get a criminal law attorney. Ask them about programs, etc.

Hope for time served, but you'll definitely get probation for at least 3 years and be sure to stay out of trouble.

If this is a first offense and no previous record, then probation is a strong likelihood.

It is very possible that even with a poor attorney you will still just get probation. Normally you will get a fine, have to pay back all the money, and be on probation
