Two months ago you said you have been trying for 4+ years. We need to know which it is, months or years.
Months is too soon to start spending money on doctors.
Fertility testing is expensive, no matter what.
Your husband had a child, but what if it wasn't his? (Even small chance.) Or his sperm motility has gone down.
That's why there are so many factors for doctors to test for.
You can do research online for home ways for both of you to try to increase the chances of getting pregnant, and you can buy a special thermometer to see when you might be ovulating.

You continue to try for a couple years... because it might take that long. And that's for people with no problems at all.

Edit... I just saw you claim in some other place you've tried for years... and her you say a few months... it can't be both... which is the truth?

How do you know when you ovulate then... don't tell me a cell phone app... those are worth less than your horocope.

Women usually ovulate in the middle of the cycle, half way between the first day of each period. But that is just an average! You have to find out when you really ovulate, with a thermometer.

Key word is usually as joypulv stated... but they all don't. Some percentage will do it on any other day of their cycle... Cell phone apps make assumptions everyone does.

And not just any thermometer... it needs to be a basal thermometer... they far more accurate and precise... and you have to chart it daily for a long period to establish when you actually ovulate. A very tedious process.

Research Basal Temperature chart to learn more about it.
