Taking custody of my 4 year old niece
My sister is schizophrenic and has 2 daughters of the age 4 and 11. My mom used to take care of my sister and the two girls but she passed away a month ago. My oldest sister who is 34 is willing to take care of my sister but I'm concerned about both my nieces. My sister's mental illness is getting worse. She has been hearing voices everyday and has gotten very aggressive with the family. There is times when she just leaves to drink and get drugs with whoever she finds out on the streets. She is currently on medication but it just doesn't seem to help. She is unemployed and doesn't have interest in working. Her personal and the girl's hygiene is very poor she just spends her days wondering around the house or goes outside asking people for cigarettes, alcohol or drugs. In the last 2 months we had to call the police on her about 5 times because she gets aggressive or comes home under the influence. Right now my older sister took her and my 11 year old niece to her house 3 hours away from here and I have my 4 year old niece with me. I've already ask the girl's mom if she would let have the custody of the girls and she said no. That unless I take her too I cannot keep only the girls. But that where my problem is. I don't think is the best for the girls to be around her. She is a terrible example to them with her violence, negligence and addictions. How do I get full customy of my nieces against my schizophrenic sisters will?

You go to family court and you explain her Medical history. If you take her to the doctors. Enrolling her in daycare or anywhere you are going to have some sort of guardianship documentation. At most with guardianship she could possibly get a couple hours supervision, but the Judge could say that's not even in the best interest of the kids.
