    I want to get custody of my 6 year old niece
    I want to know how to get custody of my 6 year old niece she is 6 years old they are staying in the salvation army and are unable to take care of her they way they should the father is always drunk or high on pills and the mother can't handle her my niece tells me that she saw her dad snort sugar up his nose. She has asked me multiple times if she can live with me because she hates staying at the salvation army and I need help to figure out what procedures need to be taken in order to get her please help me

    The Salvation Army hasn't recognized that the parents are addicts?

    Anyway - you are not "entitled" to custody of the child. Ask the parents to sign guardianship over to you.

    If the child is in danger or abused you need to file a Police Report.

    IF the child is placed in foster care you can apply to be her guardian.
