    2004 Honda Civic EX - 64,000 miles
About a week ago, my maintenance required light came on and I got an oil change which corrected that. In the meantime, an amber light that resembles a helicopter, which I am assuming would be the engine light came on. I happened to get gas and after that the light went off and stayed off until today. The car is driving fine but this light coming back on has been curious. I did pass the emissions test for inspection in January with no problem but from my my manual it appears that if it is not the gas cap then it could be a problem with the emissions. What kind of problem is that and what would need to be done, if that is the case? Does anyone have any idea. I can't afford to pay a lot of money to have it repaired - any suggestions?

If it went out when you got gas, then it probably is the cap. Keep turning it, several times. It doesn't always work but if it does sometimes, then don't worry about it. I had a Honda with the engine light (that's a little picture of the engine with the fan) on for years. And I sold it to a friend and it still runs fine.

Try rotating the gas cap, until you hear it click 3 times. If the problem persists, check for codes.
