Hampton bay ceiling fan remote

Fan & lights all worked by remote for several years. Out of the blue the motor speed will no longer change. Fan is stuck in low. Lights work fine & fan will cut off & on by remote. Just can't get medium or high speed to work

I purchased both a Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan and their wired remote. The fan's light kit indicates only use Fluorescent bulbs while the remote instructions say only use incandescent bulbs. The question is can I use Fluorescent bulbs with the remote?
