    Probation violation mistameaner
    How long can they hold a person in jail on a violation of probation with only 2wks left of probatio. With mistameanor charges?

    Misdemeanor?

    Would depend on which state is holding the person, and perhaps also on how much of the sentence is left to be served.

    Hello l:

    When you're on parole, you have a release date that CAN'T be changed.. When you're on PROBATION, you DON'T have a release date. You have a suspended sentence hanging over your head. If you violate, even on the LAST day of probation, you can be made to serve the ENTIRE suspended sentence.
