    Promises
Question: I helped start a business with my brother in law from his garage. I stood on any given day anywhere from 2:00 am - 3:00 getting orders ready. He promised me 10% of the company when he opened up his business. Building was rented, business was started and I am still waiting for my 10%. He says too much bills and not enough money coming in. Would I be able to sue him?

You understand that 10% of $0.00 is $0.00, right?

What business form is it, a corporation, LLC, partnership, or sole proprietorship?

And which state is it in?

Finally, I note that you put this in the "labor law" forum. Since he promised you a percentage of the business ("equity"), rather than a wage or a salary, why did you put it there, instead of the "Corporate Law" forum?
