I have a 3 foot deep vertical toilet waste line that is installed through a slab and it comes up on an angle of about 5+ degrees towards the middle of the bath. Now the flange sits on a 5 degree angle to the floor. Anyone have a suggestion as to an easy fix to make the flange sit level on the floor?

If you connect the flange so the high point of the flange is just even with or just slightly higher than the finished floor you should be able to install the toilet if you purchase an extra thick, preferably neoprene reinforced, wax ring and extra long johnny bolts (toilet bolts).

The flange might look a little silly, and you might have to bend the johhny bolts a bit to straighten them, but there is room for error in installing a toilet flange. The extra thick wax gasket will make up for the difference you need... ;)

Home Depot has a flange adaptor that has worked well for me on several occasions. It consists of a wax ring, which is placed on the existing flange. I comes with a white pvc cover that bolts to the existing flange and the wax is kind of sandwiched between the two. This adaptor will compensate for some height discrepancies. The adaptor has a neoprene type seal for the toilet to mate up with when installed. It comes with the hole covered so that it can be sealed until a toilet is placed there. The thing I like most about it is that once you get the wax ring down and the top cover on, you never have to mess with the wax again. If you pull the toilet it just comes unseated from the neoprene gasket and when you put it back down it seats itself in the gasket again. The toilet exit flange goes down in the gasket far enough that it shouldn't leak unless maybe your sewer backed up. If you have ever messed with toilets and wax rings, especially old toilets or problem toilets you have probably tested your gag reflexes a few times. It may be a little too high for some installations, so check first, but I have used it when tiling bathrooms and it was so nice. Plugged the hole while I was working and I didn't have to do much to get it installed and after the tile was in place the toilet fit like a dream. No worrying about messing with the wax seal and when the toilet seats, you cinch down the johnny bolts and you're pretty much done. The next time you pull the toilet no wax ring mess. Worth looking at.
