How do I obtain a court order to destroy GCIC fingerprint cards in Georgia?
I was arrested in 1998 for obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Fulton county. The case was dismissed(NOD). I received the form to get my records expunged. I spoke with the arresting agency and they said my fingerprint cards and photographs will be destroyed. However the GCIC/GBI said they will only seal but not destroy my record/fingerprint card/photographs unless I get a separate court order. My question is: What is the procedure and forms to fill out to obtain a court order to get my fingerprint cards and photographs destroyed with the GCIC? I live in California and was visiting Georgia at the time of the arrest. Is there a way to do this by mail?

    Thanks in advance!

I am reading that you can't get them removed. Hopefully someone who is actually in Georgia will come along and explain the process, if there is a process.

I know specifically in other States the record may be sealed, expunged or something else but remains visible to Government and other special background searches.

And fingerprints remain on file. There isn't necessarily a note WHY they're on file, but they stay on file.

Here is what I did find: http://criminal-law.freeadvice.com/c...pungements.htm

Are you asking this on multiple sites? I just got the same question somewhere else -?
