    I have a 1998 chevy cavalier 4 door automatic, I switched the ignition switch and car starts but only for a second then it shuts off

    Assuming you installed the ignition switch correctly, I would focus on the Ignition Control Module (ICM). I recommend replacing them every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.

I just had to put a fuel pump on my cavalier and now it will run but if you drive it a little ways or give it a little gas it losses all power and starts spitting and sputtering. Please can someone help me.
