Hello,
My car running great till yesterday but today the car has a very bad knocking sound from the top side of the engine and the more you drive the louder it gets and there is no pulling power in it. It has 105000 miles had an oil change a month back. Please let me know. Thank you

Don't drive it any more until you have this checked out! I owned a Cavalier, actually 2 Cavaliers and never had any problems with them like that. My mechanic always told me that the louder the noise your car makes, the more expensive the repair will be. Sounds like you blew a head gasket. Have you been changing the oil faithfully in it? Also do you use a high mileage oil as well?

Thank you so much for your reply.. I got it checked out and they say it's the motor but the car has only 105000 do you think the motor would go bad at this much miles..

It could be a number of things. The motor could be junk if it wasn't properly lubricated, if it overheated, etc. You could also have a bad lifter. 105K seems a little early but not impossible. Which motor is in the vehicle?

I had just bought the car 2 months back and got everything done from oil change to filters changed and even put mobil 1 high mileage synthetic oil. Got it checked in 2 places and both told me it's the engine and it needs to be changed which is going to cost me more then I paid for so don't know what to do. I am just shocked that it happened in 105000 miles.

What part of the motor are they saying is the problem?
