Hampton bay ceiling fan - won't turn off!
My hampton bay ceiling fan with light has a remote that operateswhen the wall light switch is in the on position. Suddenly, the remote stopped communicating with the fan/lights. The remote light goes on, but the fan is not listening. I can only turn the fan/lights on/off via the wall light switch. But cannot use the fan without the lights or vice versa. So far I have looked nside the remote, but not inside the fan. Please help. I'm not a skilled person in electronics, although I can change lightbulbs.

Your question is a bit unclear. Are you saying that only the switch can turn the fan and lights off/on and the remote does nothing, or are you saying that the lights operate normally via the remote however the fan does not, while the wall switch still operates normally?

The wall switch works. The remote does not (battery replaced)x so, both fan and light can only go on or off simultaneously. Can't have one without the other.

There should be a set of dip switches in the battery compartment. 4 I think. Make sure their configuration matches that of the fan itself, they are located under the canopy of the fan.

It is not uncommon for the remote to go bad, you can call their customer service for tech support to determine if either the remote or fan is bad, they could probably guide you on obtaining new parts if needed. Good Luck

I have a combination Hampton Bay ceiling fixture with fan. It has remote to turn the light on or off, fan on or off... there are two pull chains, one in the very center of the fixture, one on the section above the lights. I know power is getting to the unit... everything else in the room...
