Period Late - Morning After Pill
I had sex with my boyfriend and we discovered that the condom had broke after he had come. As I am NOT on the pill, I took the Morning After Pill within two hours of realising. I took the second one 24 hours rather than 12 hours after by mistke, so I took a third one 12 hours after that. The incident happened the day before my period was due. My cycle may not be regular yet due to my age (16) but it HAS been regular the last three periods. But my period is now three days late. I am feeling quite tired and have been to the toilet a few times today, only having drunk a coffee and some water.
I am not sure if all my symptoms, including those two I mentioned are from pregnancy, from PMS, from general tiredness or (I am hoping) from the morning after pill (especially as I took three) except the last pill I took was over 36 hours ago.

Even though the it was a very un-fertile time for me, being the last day of my period and even though the Morning After Pill can delay periods for up to a week, I am still freaking out a bit. Am I most likely pregnant or not?

    Thanks
    Jenny (from Australia)

There's no way to tell for sure until you're at least 7 days late. When you've been late for 7 days, take a HPT... if it says negative, then I'd wait another 3 days and see what another one says. This could be because of your age also. Next time try to be extra careful... have you thought about extra protection with birth control? This is a much better option than the morning after pill in my opinion.

Since this happened the day before your period was due, I doubt that you are pregnant. However, it is always a possibility. I would venture to guess that it is just the pill that is making your system funky, plus your age. I am sure there is a fair amount of stress in there as well. I would wait a week or two more, and test. Good luck

The morning after pill does affect your cycle. I am surprised your doctor didn't warn you. It can mess them up for a few months and often does.

    Hello

I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative which was a huge releif and then today I got my period, a week late, which was a double confirmation. I guess it could have also been a combination of stress as well
But thanks for all your help
