I am 50 yrs old female.
About 2 years ago, I met this guy at a single social event and he was actually running for an office. I remember we chatted, I kind of liked him. He had a good sense of humor, but never kept in touch.
Around the beginning of January of this year, I attended this social event through a meet up group and ran into him. He didn't remember me, but I reminded him about that night and the event. He was so surprised that we ran into each other again. Anyway, we exchanged our email addresses.
About 10 days later, he sent me an email if we could get together for a drink and chat and I said yes. So we met. Very nice conversation. He is very passionate about politics and so am I and other different topics. He is (was) 56 and divorced. And then we met a few times after that. He was very passionate towards me. We went to a movie, art gallery, watched Caps game (both hockey fans), invited me to his house and cooked dinner. We hugged, kissed. Then on Saturday we took a boat ride to the Harbor, walked around, talked, had dinner again a very warm hug and kiss.
Yesterday (Sunday) morning, he sent me a very nice email and wrote, "It was nice to be with you yesterday..." He sent that email at 7:30 in the morning. Then at 7:43 in the evening, I got this email from him: "Just tonight I became aware that I am falling in love with another woman ... one I have known for a few years. It has taken me by surprise. Kevin " What? I am SO CONFUSED, HURT. How can he now know that he was in love with another woman, and realize after a few hours. To mislead me!
I need help! I really liked him. Again I'm so confused and need advice, please.

Well at least you haven't invested a huge amount of time only to find this out.

What he did was wrong and insensitive, and sometimes we just have to accept that. And if he goes around using people like that, then you can do better!

Maybe he had been seeing this woman and they had a falling out and are now back together. Who knows. Just be thankful you had not invested a lot of time.
