Currently my grandparents house only has granddads name on the deed. We, the family, would like to know how we can change the names on the deed and how to go about it. Granddad passed away sme 40 years ago.

    Hello browny:

When grandad passed, his estate should have been probated. That's a court procedure where all his assets and debts are taken care of. Evidently, somebody didn't do what they were supposed to do.

If it were me, I'd hire a lawyer to clean this up.

Yes, at this point you are still going to have to go though probate court, and now you really need an attorney to get it done properly
