I have my computer, phone line and television on one of the usual Broadband packages and seem to pay an awful lot. I rarely use my phone but am on computer and watch television frequently. Is there some way I can do this a lot cheaper? It seems once your in a package you cannot change aspects of it without giving up the whole lot and moving to another company, or can you? How can I find out first about prices without committing to another tariff? Can I have advice please. Thank you.

Impossible to comment without knowing your location, current provider and package.

Trying to drop one part of the bundle means the other 2 parts go up in price, and you only get about $20/mo off if you drop the phone part. At least that's what I found with comcast.
Once you finish an introductory package deal you can move to another provider's introductory deal, but even if you move they have your SSN and will refuse any future intro deals, so you only get one shot with each company.
They also won't give a deal to anyone new at a given address if that address had a deal before.

Your provider or their competitors will be happy to discuss pricing with you. As noted, you get extreme discounts by bundling, but the features can be purchased individually and you might get some savings.
