    Diarrhea
I have been sick with having diarrhea for 5 days now. Haven't ate in 5 days and the diarrhea is a bright yellow water. My stomach hurts also. Any suggestions... not on any meds

My advice... go see a doctor now... you should have gone by the third day. They can determine what medications might be appropriate after they have actually seen you. Most of those will be prescription only. Diarrhea for long enough can become fife threatening. Since its been 5 and isn't getting better... its going to need some intervention.

Depending on where you live there are certain illnesses that might be endemic... Like Amoebic Dysentery or others... these are parasitic illnesses that result in diarrhea... and need treated.

A simple non serious diarrhea would last less than 3 days typically.

I live in ontario canada. Im up and down about when to go in. my leg is now hurting but I think it is from how weak I am right now. Its late here and the hospital is about 45 minutes away and is always a long long wait.

If you can't get there tonight... get someone to buy you some pedialyte it's a liquid with electrolytes to give children with diarrhea.. And dehydration along with electrolyte imbalance is a serious risk beyond the third day... and gets progressively more serious the longer it lasts.

Drink that tonight... then get to the doctor in the morning... if you don't tonight... It going to get a lot worse if it doesn't clear up on its own.. and on day five... its indicating its something more serious than a minor intestinal flue.
