Theft under 5000 chances of alternative measures program?
I was recently charged for stealing a jacket from cabellas. First and foremost I'm guilty and I'm sorry. It was stupid and a lack of judgement on my part. I am Canadian and I have not had prior criminal charges. I'm really afraid to get a criminal record because I am scared for my future. I realize that I could have simply prevented this by not stealing but I did it was stupid and I can't go back to change that as much as I wish I could. What are some steps I could take to be accepted in to the amp? How likely is it that the crown prosecutor allows first time offenders in to the program?

My first advice is never admit guilt, without taking to an attorney first. Many cases would be thrown out of court for bad evidence or improperly done evidence if the person had not confessed to everything.

By if this is all, yes I think you have a very very good chance of getting an alternative sentence
