    Difficulty connecting a Honeywell thermostat
My husband bought a new Honeywell thermostat and is trying to connect it, but the colored wires don't match the codes on the line that says Heat Pump. We had it connected but couldn't get the heat to shut off -- it got stuck on 81 and he had to disconnect the entire thermostat to get it to shut down. Does anyone know how to connect these? There were NO installation instructions that came with it -- only the instruction sheet to set the settings etc. Thanks!

Have you gone to Honeywell's website and downloaded the installation and user manuals for the specific model you bought. Odd you didn't have one since they put them in all the packages.

Not all models are suitable for a heat pump.
