Delta, single-handle, pull out kitchen faucet - it was dripping, so we replaced the seats and springs. Everything looks right, but we only get hot water flow.

The ball has a slot in it which must line up with the pin in the faucet. Right now the ball is not oriented correctly.

Those "pull out kitchen faucets" don't have that particular ball anymore, PJmax... went over to valve assembly (see image) awhile back now... ;)

Rhenegar, disassemble the faucet again (*UGH*) and remove the washers and springs. Now, put a towel over the faucet and turn the hot water on for a second. Repeat this with the cold water. If you don't get cold water at this point the problem is probably down at the shutoff itself (disassemble and you'll find the washer has loosened and clogged the valve). If you do get cold water then the issue will be in the valve assembly itself (that cartridge shaped thing)... check the inlet ports for material clogging it up. As a last resort you could try to disassemble the valve assembly itself, but they can be hard to get back together correctly, so do this only as a last resort!

If the valve assembly is clogged and you can't find anything obvious then you'll need to get an entire replacement valve assembly from a local delta dealer (check local plumbing supply store).

After thinking about it for a couple minutes, I wanted to pop in real quick and present that if the faucet has "seats and springs" it could actually still have that ball part with slot. If that is the case, check alignment with the pin as suggested by Pjmax... could certainly be the issue.

And if you look at the valve assembly, that actually has the slotted ball as well... just not something a homeowner would mess with in most cases!

If no ball with slot (out of the valve assembly case), proceed with testing for water flow through the faucet as I presented above!
