    Hampton BayCeiling Fan Not Working
    Hi,

I have a Hampton Bay model UC7015R. Fan does not work. This model only works by remote there are no manual switches. It moves freely manually. The unit has AC power to the motor and the receiver plug. After reading the tips here I ordered the receiver unit since the remote led lights when a button is pressed. The receiver did not fix the problem. I just called King Of Fans to order the remote. It is on B/O until end of April or beginning of May. Does anyone know:

    1. Where else I can get a remote? Model number UC7087T
    2. If I can bypass the remote with a switch?

    Thank you.

You can buy a Hampton Universal; remote at Home Depot for $39 or an off brand for $29. Both come with new receivers that getinstalled in the fan. A Hampton replacement probably can reuse the receiver already in your fan. Please double check one item you mentioned, no manual switch, I've not seen a Hampton that did not have pull cahin switches installed at the factory, I could be wrong. Look for pull switches that maybe no longer have the chains connected.

Thank you for your response. I checked the fan housing again and there are no switches. When I removed the casing below the motor the only accessible wiring is a nine pin plug which connects to the receiver assembly. I called King Of Fans they tell me I can only use a remote.

King of Fans is off the mark on saying you can only use a remote. Your fan is hardwired to your homes electrical system at the ceiling. The line supplying the fan can, and usually is, run through a switch box on the wall. King of Fans is demoted to Pawn.

I am betting that replacing the receiver fixed your problem, only the remote and new receiver are not on the same frequency. You need to find the dip switches in both and reset them so they match.
