My boyfriend of 2/3 years suffers with depression.. Last summer he disappeared from my life after leaving my house one night saying he would call the next day. 5 months went by with very little communication and I didn't see him at all. (he did it the summer before too) He just believed that he was no good for me and would hurt me. We got back together last October and talked about what had happened. He could not explain it, but he knew he loved me and had missed me so much. We decided we should be together and we were to make a go of it. We have always got on, never argued and have a very deep loving connection.

So this August, same thing again. I could see him slipping into depression again and he left my house saying he would call me the next day. That was 3 months ago. He ignored all my calls, texts and e mails completely and shut off from friends only dealing with things he really had to deal with.

A few weeks ago he text me about some other things, nothing about us even though I put my cards on the table, told him what I want with us and gave him the chance to just say it was all over so we could move on... Nothing... just carries on communicating about everything else but us? Every time I ask him to see me he makes an excuse but still keeps in touch by e mail, Facebook and text. If he doesn't want to be in a relationship with me, why doesn't he say... does he still want to hang on to me until he is ready (he has always said that we can't live together until he is financially secure),

Every time I decide to just let go and be done with it, he seems to pop back up again. I understand his depression and a lot about it and I know it's a common problem to cut off a relationship when depressed but I'm feeling really confused and frustrated right now. I am living my life, I'm not sitting in every night waiting for a call but it's hard. We are not youngsters, we are both in our early 50's. We had plans for our future and that all disappeared overnight?

Any advice ot thoughts any one?
