    Old GE Dryer motor wiring
I have an old GE Dryer motor with 5 connections numbered 1,2,4,5 6. This motor has been on a shelf for about 20 years so I have no diagram to follow. Would anyone please be able to tell me which ones are used to connect 110 Volt wires.

    Thanks.

Is the information on the motor's faceplate still visible? If so, we need all of the data.

If not, send GE a picture of the motor and see if they can identify it.

Any recommendations? New motor apparently is capable of running in either direction by switching brown and purple wires going to the capacitor. Looks like then either the remaining brown or purple is spliced to or hooked up to the same terminal as the yellow. Thanks.
